I love this restaurant! It's a great place to get a (veggie) burger and local draft beer after a day of mtn biking or skiing. There are two menus: pub and dinner. I prefer the pub menu, but on nights when you're looking for more artisan cuisine, go for the dining room. Another perk at the Tamarack is the view: look out over the ski sloops or gaze at the foliage from the pub/deck. Note that this place does get busy sometimes and making a reservation is a good idea during the peak seasons.

My husband and I both ordered steaks last Friday night and were very disappointed in the quantity and quality of the meal, the steak had very little flavor and it was smothered in canned fried onion rings, yuck. The vegetables were just as poorly prepared. I heard they had changed the menu so I thought I'd try it again. Never again!

When at Burke Mountain the Tamarack Grill is a great place to go to. It offers a relaxing atmosphere by being above the main lodge and away from the general hustle and bustle. While the menu is not very expansive you will find something you like to energize yourself and get back on the slopes. The bar has an excellent lineup of beers on tap for you to enjoy. Be sure to step outside on the deck for some fresh air and a view of the mountain.

The restaurant is on Burke Mountain with gorgeous views. We started with a nachos appetizer and beer and it was very good. All local beers on tap and a great selection. It was Mexican night but I ordered a burger that was cooked to perfection. My friends got mexican and the tacos were great but the fajitas were only fair. I would stay with their regular menu and you will enjoy it.

We always go to the Tamarack Grill when skiing at Burke Mountain. Whether it's for lunch, apres ski or dinner we make a point to go here. The salads are delicious, great burgers including the Turkey Burger and we always order the homemade potato chips with blue cheese! Yummy! If skiing, lunch here is quite reasonable and if you head in a bit early you'll get a seat with a view of the mountain and skiers. Enjoy!

I really need to go back here when I don't have a low grade fever and the chills. Went here with a friend this past weekend for dinner. It definitely is a cozy, cool spot nestled right at the foothills of Burke Mountain. The ambiance is warm and inviting with fireplaces, exposed brick, and warm lighting. Very spacious. We were seated right away. Our waitress was really nice but forgetful. They were not super busy but still, service was slow. We had the beer pretzel appetizer which was damn good. I had the Vermont black bean burger and my friend had a pasta dish. Both were pretty tasty. The best part was the toasted almond cake dessert though- absolutely delicious. Pros: very cozy and inviting, I would imagine more so after a day of skiing. Clean, spacious, extensive beer menu! Nice staff, good food Cons: slow service, had to ask for items (refilled water, ketchup, napkins, etc.) a bunch of times before they were brought over. I definitely plan on returning when I am feeling better!

Had dinner here w/ hubby a few nights ago. I got a burger, ordered med well. Came to me rare. Sent back to get a new one made. Meanwhile hubby's eating his dinner, so the waitress kindly brought out an app. It was pretzel crusted cheese curds. Deep fried too long. Thanks but no thanks. My burger came out after hubby was finished w/ his plate. Burger had NO flavor what-so-ever. Waitress was nice but we probably will no go back there.

This place was wonderful! We had amazing zucchini fries and arugula salad! The food was fresh and delicious! The fish tacos were great and so was the cheese steak! Although, i might have gone a little lighter with the green peppers, but thats just me! It overlooks the mountain and is a beautifully decorated and presented place to eat. The food was impeccable and the prices really good, I will definitely be going back.

This is a great spot to eat in the Burke area. I love that it's at the base of the mountain. The turkey and beef burgers are always a good choice. The beer selection is also great! Overall a good bar and grill for this area!

Great hangout at the Burke Mountain base lodge. They have lots of good beers on tap and the atmosphere is always fun. Real solid burger and fries and the bleu cheese chips are a can't miss.

I always look forward to eating great food in VT but I have to say, our recent visit to this restaurant was just plain awful. My husband had the Skiier's Pie and it was dry, flavorless, the beef was overdone, almost inedible. I had the short ribs which were just terrible, not cooked well. The veggies that accompanied the ribs almost seemed like they were previously frozen and the mashed potatoes dry and tasteless. I hate to leave a bad review because we like having a beer at the bar here but we had a hard time paying the bill - the food was that bad!

Two words. Two syllables. Thai Wings. Get them when you go here and you will not be disappointed. Drinks are tasty, try the maple martini. Hard to complain about this place, music is good, waitresses are nice and the scenery is gorgeous from the deck. If you came up in the winter, stop up during the summer, its a little different feel and a chiller atmosphere.

The Tamarack Grill is Burke Mountain's base lodge restaurant-- it overlooks the slopes, and sports an appropriately cozy, lodge-esque decor. Very Vermont. Aside from being terrified that the 2 vertical propeller-like ceiling fans were going to careen from their perches destroying the restaurant and its diners, we enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. Our server was very nice. He was trying really really hard to tantalize us with the higher priced menu items, but we were all dead set on getting burgers...i think he was disappointed...and I think he may have hated us by the end of the meal, because we didn't want dessert, or second drinks, or anything. At least we got the smoked trout appetizer...which was actually the high point of the meal. The food overall was really only okay. My grilled chicken pesto sandwich was charred beyond belief, as was my friend's burger. Everything looked pretty well done in general. Our bottle of riesling was lovely though-- they seemed to have a nice wine and beer list. For a place that's supposed to be 'world famous' (self-proclaimed) I wasn't that impressed. But maybe we ordered wrong, who knows? I definitely wouldn't come running back here when in the area...

This is a great place to grab a beer and some food after a long day on the slopes. The homemade chips with blue cheese are delicious. In a small town like East Burke, a cozy bar with good food and screens for watching a bit of TV (i.e. zoning out) after a long day of skiing is a welcome addition. It seems to be catering to the city folks that come to Burke Mtn, and i dont think theres a problem with that. For those of us who travel far to get there, there's something nice about being at the Mtn even when the lifts have stopped running.
